World Cup: Peces and Teichert win out over strong Hungarian competition

As is often the case, this season had its ups and downs but throughout there were great performances from all athletes, both in the overall categories and in the age groups. So, to celebrate their efforts and achievements, here is a review of the 2016 World Cup Season. The format of the World Cup was the same as in recent years. A total of eight races were available, of which the best four scores count. Those who completed more than four races also received 10 bonus points per competition. A great finale to the season in Oslo

The Norwegian capital Oslo has added another World Championship to the list of events hosted there. Quadrathlon at Lake Bogstad now takes its place alongside such sports as cross country skiing and biathlon at the famous Holmenkollen site. This was the last race in the 2016 World Cup Series and would decide the silver and bronze places in the overall standings amongst Ferenc Csima (HUN), Leos Rousavy (CZE) and Stefan Teichert (GER). There was also excitement to see how the Norwegian athletes would fare in the competition for the points available. Their nation produces many top cross country skiers but how would they cope with the four quadrathlon disciplines...

Csima leads again at Bergsee Ratscher

Just a week after his victory at Lake Balaton the strong Hungarian Ferenc Csima also won in Germany at Bergsee Ratscher. Along with local heroine, Lisa Teichert, he joins the list of winners after this, the 13th quadrathlon, which take place near to Schleusingen. This traditional end of season event is always something to look forward to for many athletes. Changes to World Cup Events

Unfortunately, there have been two race cancellations received in the last few days. These are the events planned for Wolsztyn (POL) and Linköping (SWE). In both case there were only low numbers of athletes who had already entered, the Swedish organiser also has some health problems and the Polish event had greater hopes of financial returns than could be reasonably expected. The WQF greatly regrets these cancellations but is very pleased to announce that two other races are prepared to act as alternatives...
