
Swimmers
begin the event.They will complete an "out and back",
course starting at the public beach on Dartmouth's
Lake Charles.
Competitors swim north around large bouys and return along a parallel
course into the sand next to the Canal entrance. The transition to the cycle leg is located in the campground parking lot very nearby. Lake conditions in the mornings are
generally calm with an average water temperature of 18 c (65 f).
Local residents will provide safety for the athletes.
