World Quadrathlon Federation

World Quadrathlon Federation     The World Quadrathlon Federation (WQF) is the international sport governing body for Quadrathlon. Quadrathlon is a multi-sport event in which athletes, or teams of athletes participate in a continuous series of four component sports (swim, paddle, cycle and run).

The management and control of quadrathlon, including WQF World Cup events and WQF World Championships, is vested solely in the World Quadrathlon Federation. It exercises all powers as may be necessary to give effect to the articles established at the WQF Congress and published in its "Rules of Competition" (available on this website).

An "Operations Manual" is also available (in English) for the purpose of the observation of minimum event management and marketing standards and requirements so that the present and future practices and procedures of all National Federations selected by WQF to organize any national or international competition are maintained according to the regulations and standards set forth by the WQF.

The organization has five main principles for all race events:

          1.  Safe and fair competition

          2.  Spectator and media friendly

          3.  Satisfying for the sponsors

          4.  Profitable for the local Organizing Committee

          5.  Create a legacy for the community.

Membership in the WQF is open to any recognized race organizer and National Federation who agrees to abide by its principles. The WQF sanctions races in which male and female participants earn points toward a "World Cup". The designation of "World Championship" is awarded by the WQF to events in three specific distances, Sprint - Middle - Long.
