Schleusingen, Germany

    In Germany there is a very broad organization for quadrathlon, with many local sponsors hosting competitions for interested athletes in each of the 3 different distances.... a sprint, middle and a long-distance formats. In fact, mulitsport events have been held all over Germany for some 30 years.

    Recent races like the “BerlinMan” and the “Cottbusser” have attracted the best athletes in the world. Often these races are held with partner sports, like Triathlon and Duathlon, but also Canoe-triathlon (since 1996, an official race for the German Canoe Federation).

    New for 2008 is the plan to hold a quadrathlon near Schleusingen. This lakeside village, in south-central Germany (on the No. 73 Autobahn) is well known for its promotion of water sports and multisport events.
